Starting Your Volunteering Journey with ENGin

Beginning your volunteer experience with ENGin can be both exciting and daunting. To ease this transition, we've provided a few essential resources for new members.

Below is a step-by-step guide to help you start volunteering:

1. Complete the Volunteer Application:

  • Create an Account: Begin by creating a volunteer account on the ENGin website.

  • Fill Out the Form: Complete the form to declare your intent to volunteer with ENGin.

2. Schedule an Interview:

  • Set Up an Interview: Once your intent is declared, schedule an interview with an ENGin coordinator. This interview ensures your safety, assesses your English fluency, and helps match you with a suitable participant.

  • Communicate Clearly: Discuss any reservations you have and express your interests to ensure the best match possible.

3. Complete the Volunteer Agreement:

  • Review Thoroughly: Read and review the volunteer agreement carefully.

4. Attend Volunteer Training:

  • Training Options:

    • Zoom Session: Schedule a training session over Zoom.

    • YouTube Videos: Alternatively, watch the training session videos available on the ENGin website.

5. Pass a Short Quiz:

  • Prepare for the Quiz: Pay attention to the training materials mentioned in the previous step to pass the quiz.

6. Get Matched and Start Engaging:

  • Connect with Your Buddy: Once matched, reach out to your student via email.

  • Plan Meetings: Coordinate the best way to communicate (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Skype) and arrange meeting times considering time zones.

  •

We hope these steps provide clarity and confidence as you embark on your volunteering journey with ENGin.
